Einführung in die Kritik des Antisemitismus
Das Thema „Antisemitismus“ - also der Hass auf Juden und Jüdinnen - wird aktuell in Medien, Bildungseinrichtungen und auch linken Gruppen & Zentren kontrovers diskutiert. Aber was versteht man überhaupt darunter?
In dem interaktiv angelegten Workshop werden wir uns mit der Geschichte der Judenfeindschaft in Europa und insbesondere in Deutschland beschäftigen: Vom religiös geprägten Judenhass im Christentum, über den rassistischen Antisemitismus der deutschen Faschisten bis hin zum verdeckten Antisemitismus nach 1945.
Wir werden besprechen was den (modernen) Antisemitismus ausmacht, ob Antisemitismus nur eine Form von Rassismus ist und auch ob Kritik am Staat Israel etwas mit Antisemitismus zu tun hat. Am Ende wollen wir uns fragen: Was können wir hier und jetzt gegen Antisemitismus tun?
Der Workshop ist interaktiv angelegt und kann ohne jegliche Vorkenntnisse zum Thema besucht werden.

Introduction to the critique of anti-Semitism
The topic of “anti-Semitism” - i.e. hatred of Jews - is currently the subject of controversial debate in the media, educational institutions and left-wing groups and centers. But what does it actually mean?
In this interactive workshop, we will look at the history of hostility towards Jews in Europe and especially in Germany: From religiously influenced hatred of Jews in Christianity, to the racist anti-Semitism of the German fascists, to covert anti-Semitism after 1945.
We will discuss what constitutes (modern) anti-Semitism, whether anti-Semitism is just a form of racism and also whether criticism of the state of Israel has anything to do with anti-Semitism. In the end, we want to ask ourselves: What can we do here and now to combat anti-Semitism?
The workshop is designed to be interactive and can be attended without any prior knowledge of the topic.
