Set in Berlin, this documentary follows four activists as they navigate the challenges, hopes, and resilience that define the Palestine solidarity movement in Germany. Against a backdrop of mounting repression, the film delves into the controversy surrounding the banned “Palästina Kongress,” tracing its suppression and the far-reaching political repercussions that followed.
Combining personal narratives, archival images, and scenes of modern protest, the film captures Berlin’s student movement as part of a global wave of activism, revealing the friction between Germany’s past and its political present. Underlying the narrative is an essential question: how does Germany’s unresolved history of fascism shape its politics today and its treatment of voices standing in solidarity with Palestine?

Kamal El Salim is a filmmaker, organizer and activist focused on human rights, antifascism, anti imperialism, migration narratives and storytelling. He has led civil society initiatives for refugee rights in Sweden and contributes journalism and documentary work that challenges mainstream narratives and amplifies marginalized perspectives.
As a filmmaker, El Salim’s projects explore migration, identity and displacement - including the documentary work around Fort Europa, which reflects on stories of people on the move and his own family’s experience of migration.He also contributes to public discourse through writing and journalism. His articles and investigations - published in platforms like Parabol - address media bias, state propaganda, migration policy, human rights, and social justice. Salim’s work is rooted in amplifying underrepresented voices and fostering community engagement through creative and civic platforms.
