Philipp J. Jennings is Co-president of the IPB, the International Peace Bureau which has been active and working for peace since 1891.
The recently deceased legendary USA civil rights Campaigner John Lewis once said ‘When you see something that’s not right or fair or just, you have to say something, you have to do something. You have to get in trouble, good trouble, necessary trouble’. In January this year the Atomic Scientists of the USA published the 2020 doomsday clock. It was the closest to midnight it has been since the first doomsday clock was published in 1947. The covid19 pandemic, deteriorating climate crisis, economic inequality, crushing of human rights, massive increase in global military expenditure, collapsing arms control treaties, new investment in nuclear weapons, new scenarios for their practical use, new weapons on their way to Europe have likely pushed the second hand closer to midnight. Philip Jennings is thé recently elected Co President of the worlds oldest peace ngo thé International Peace Bureau he will address the peace week on why we need to make ‘Good trouble’ for planet, people and peace.

Philipp J. Jennings ist Co-Präsident des IPB, des Internationalen Friedensbüros, das sich seit 1891 für den Frieden engagiert.
Der kürzlich verstorbene legendäre US-Bürgerrechtler John Lewis hat einmal gesagt: "Wenn du etwas siehst, das nicht richtig oder fair ist oder einfach, musst du etwas sagen, du musst etwas tun. Du musst in Schwierigkeiten kommen, gute Probleme, notwendige Probleme." Im Januar dieses Jahres veröffentlichten die Atomwissenschaftler der USA die Weltuntergangsuhr 2020. Es war die nächste Mitternacht, seit die erste Weltuntergangsuhr 1947 veröffentlicht wurde. Die covid19-Pandemie, die sich verschlechternde Klimakrise, die wirtschaftliche Ungleichheit, die Erniedrigung der Menschenrechte, die massive Zunahme der globalen Militärausgaben, kollabierende Rüstungskontrollverträge, neue Investitionen in Atomwaffen, neue Szenarien für ihren praktischen Einsatz, neue Waffen auf dem Weg nach Europa haben die zweite Hand wahrscheinlich näher an Mitternacht getrieben. Philip Jennings ist der kürzlich gewählte Co-Präsident des ältesten Friedensbüros der Welt, das in der Friedenswoche darüber sprechen wird, warum wir "gute Probleme" für Planet, Menschen und Frieden machen müssen.
