Palestine: Beyond Recognition, how to organize for liberation

In 2025, many Western countries recognised the State of Palestine – from France to Australia, to Belgium and Canada. Yet these are the same countries complicit in Israel’s crimes against Palestinians across all occupied territories.
After two years of atrocities in Gaza, Western NGOs and multilateral organisations finally acknowledged that what is happening there constitutes genocide.
Many see these recognitions as necessary steps towards peace. On the contrary, such symbolic recognitions are only in reaction to the pressure of global pro-Palestinian movements.
This leads to the most important question, will these acts truly lead to tangible material change and are they actually major steps in putting an end to the occupation of Palestine?
Join us at our event, organised as part of KrEta (Critical Orientation Days), for our input and a discussion on how we can build towards Palestine’s liberation beyond symbolic and performative actions.
