Hanau war kein Einzelfall. Rassismus ist nie ein Einzelfall!
Rassismus ist ein System, eine Struktur, die alle Ebenen und Institutionen gesellschaftlichen Zusammenlebens durchdringt.
Systemischer Rassismus sorgt tagtäglich nicht nur für Diskriminierung, Ausgrenzung und Gewalt, sondern legitimiert diese auch.
Im Februar 2020 wurden in Hanau neun Menschen durch einen rassistischen Anschlag getötet. Am Mittwoch, den 19.08.2020 ist diese grausame Tat sechs Monate her. An diesem Tag wollen wir auch in Freiburg den Opfern Ferhat Unvar, Mercedes Kierpacz, Sedat Gürbüz, Gökhan Gültekin, Hamza Kurtović, Kaloyan Velkov, Vili Viorel Păun, Said Nesar Hashemi, Fatih Saraçoğlu gedenken.
Wir wollen Raum geben zum Erinnern und uns dem rassistischen System entgegensetzen. Wir solidarisieren uns mit den Hinterbliebenen der Opfer, die immer noch auf eine Aufklärung der Tat warten. Überlebende und die Angehörigen der Opfer haben immer noch offenen Fragen. Die möchten wir zusammen auf die Straße tragen, damit das rassistische System nicht länger unsichtbar bleibt.
Dass das rassistische System alle Institutionen und damit auch die Sicherheitsapparate der BRD durchdringt, ist spätestens seit den NSU-Morden mehr als deutlich. Von der Politik kamen bisher nur Lippenbekenntnisse, die beispielsweise die Morddrohungen des "NSU 2.0" in Hessen, extrem rechte Vereinigungen in der Bundeswehr, Aktensperrungen, ergebnislose Untersuchungsausschüsse und kontinuierliche Intransparenz des Verfassungsschutzes nicht verhindern.
So handelte die Polizei in Hanau ebenfalls verzögert und nahm drei abgesetzte Notrufe von Vili Viorel Păun, der den Täter verfolgte und ihm dann selber zum Opfer fiel, nicht entgegen. Warum ist bis heute ungeklärt.
Wie die Initiative @19februarhanau und viele andere, fordern wir ein Gedenken und Erinnern in Würde, eine lückenlose Aufklärung sowie Entschädigung für alle Opfer und Überlebende. Hanau soll nicht eine weitere Station, sondern die Endstation sein! Das heißt von der Politik sollen nicht nur leere Versprechungen kommen, sondern bundesweite politische Konsequenzen.
Deshalb fordern wir euch auf, mit uns gemeinsam am 19.08.2020 um 17 Uhr am Platz der alten Synagoge zu erinnern und zu demonstrieren. Bringt für einen Blumenflashmob viele Blumen mit, um den #hanaubleibtbunt auch in Freiburg anzuzeigen!

Racism kills - from Hanau to Moria
Hanau was not an isolated incident. Racism is never an isolated incident! Racism is a system and structure that is entreched in every level and institution of society. Every day, systemic racism not only causes discrimination, exclusion and violence, but also legitimises them.
In February 2020, nine people were killed because of a racist attack. On Wednesday, 19.08.2020 it will be six months after this vicious act. On this day we want to remember the victims Ferhat Unvar, Mercedes Kierpacz, Sedat Gürbüz, Gökhan Gültekin, Hamza Kurtović, Kaloyan Velkov, Vili Viorel Păun, Said Nesar Hashemi, Fatih Saraçoğlu in Freiburg as well.
We want to provide a space to remember and to oppose this racist system. We stand in solidarity with the bereaved oft he vicitms, who are still waiting for a full investigation of the crime. Survisors and relatives of victims still face unresolved questions. We want to take them out onto the streets together so that the racist system no longer remains invisible.
The racist murders are part of an alarming long chain of right-wing violence. Not only in Hanau, but also in Halle or Erfurt and in many other places, there were and are regular attacks by fascists* who are not even named as such. Since the beginning of the Corona pandemic there is an increased unbearable amount of racist attacks on Asian read people.
Right-wing extremism is nothing new in Germany, Germany scores high in Western Europe for right-wing violence and right-wing terrorism. This escalating continuity of right-wing violence and right-wing terror can unfold because racism is supported, trivialized, repressed, and played down by the state and large sections of society.
The fact that the racist system permeates all institutions and thus also the security apparatuses of the FRG has become more than clear since the NSU murders. Politics has so far only paid lip service to the issue, which has not prevented, for example, the death threats of the "NSU 2.0" in Hessen, extreme right-wing associations in the Bundeswehr, denying the inspection of files, inconclusive investigation committees and the continuous lack of transparency of the Office for the Protection of the
Constitution (Verfassungsschutz). Thus the police in Hanau also responded with delay and did not answer three emergency calls from Vili Viorel Păun, who pursued the perpetrator and then fell victim to him himself. Why is still unclear until today.
Like the initiative @19februarhanau and many others, we demand a commemoration and remembrance in dignity, a complete investigation, as well as compensation for all victims and survivors. Hanau should not be another station, but the final stop! Not merely empty promises should come from politics, but nationwide political consequences.
Therefore we ask you to remember and demonstrate together with us on 19.08.2020 at 5 pm at the Platz der alten Synagoge. Bring lots of
flowers for a flower flashmob to display the #hanaubleibtbunt in Freiburg too!
