Am 16. Juli gibt es Grund zu feiern: Es ist schließlich der Ehrentag des Meerschweinchens! Also packt die Krallenschere und ne Snack-Karotte ein und kommt in die Kats. Euch erwarten putzige friends und drei grandiose Bands. Den Anfang machen MAKALU aus Karlsruh mit Punk, Rock und Politik. Anschließend könnt ihr mit fiepsigen Fangesängen dem 1. FC ANGEILIKAS im Heimspiel zujubeln. Danach werden die weitangereisten GUMBLEED aus Peking euch feinsten Punk mit viel Energie und einer Prise Skaten präsentieren.
Geraucht wird den ganzen Abend draußen - sonst werden die Beißer so gelb.
Es wird den ganzen Abend eine Awarenessstruktur geben. Es gibt keinen Nebel oder Strobo-Lichter. Leider ist die Kats nicht ohne Treppen zugänglich. Weitere Infos zu Barrieren hier.

Die Bands:
MAKALU ist eine vierköpfige Band aus Karlsruhe. Simon am Schlagzeug, Julius am Bass & Gesang, Lemis an der Gitarre und Kolja an der Gitarre & Gesang sind zwischen 14 und 16 Jahre jung. Ihr Musikstiel liegt irgendwo bei Alternative Rock, Indie und Punkrock. Die Band gibt es seit einem Jahr und neben einzelnen Covern, spielen sie jetzt hauptsächlich eigene Songs. Ein wenig wie damals Ton Steine Scherben, erweckt Makalu die jugendliche Polit Rock Szene wieder neu auf. Mit ihren Songs "Kohlebagger", "Kein Bau von neuen Straßen" und "Zerstört" behandeln sie ganz konkret aktuelle gesellschaftspolitische Themen. Live passiert es schon mal, dass ein paar Saiten reißen oder Teile des Schlagzeuges umkippen, doch das gehört bei dieser Band dazu. Auf der Bühne gibt es nur ein Ziel: abgehen und Stimmung machen.

ANGEILIKAS
Wir sind Angeilikas. Der neueste Schrei aus dem Schwarzwald. Irgendwas mit Schlager, Punk und Mundartperformance aber vor allem morz gäggig.
Die Angeilikas sind als 4 Gs nun seit einem Jahr zusammen unterwegs. Yvonne als Multitalent an Keyboard, Schlagzeug und Gitarre, Moni als absolute Showmaster an Keyboard und Gesang, Ernst mit einem unvergleichlichen Taktgefühl an Schlagzeug, Gitarre und Gesang und Gabi, der Hip Hop Influence an Bass, Keyboard und Gesang.
Seit dem phänomenalen Konzert sind sie in Freiburg nicht mehr unbekannt und machen nun auch die Umgebung unsicher.
GUMBLEED
Die 2006 gegründete Band GUMBLEED, die aus dem Herzen des kulturellen und politischen Zentrums Chinas, Peking, stammt, hat die Underground-Szene schnell für sich eingenommen und sich als zentrale Kraft der chinesischen Jugendkultur etabliert.
GUM BLEED vereinen politisches Bewusstsein und metaphorische Lyrik mit einer energiegeladenen Mischung aus Punk, Hardcore, Rock und Thrash und schaffen so einen klassischen und überzeugenden Sound. Ihre beeindruckende Diskografie umfasst drei Alben, vier EPs und zahlreiche Compilations. Seit bemerkenswerten 18 Jahren stehen Gum Bleed an vorderster Front der Förderung des chinesischen Punks. Gum Bleed haben sich nicht nur dem rebellischen Sound der neuen Generation Chinas verschrieben, sondern ihr Engagement hat sie auch in die ganze Welt geführt, wo sie das Publikum mit über 1.000 elektrisierenden Live-Auftritten in ihren Bann gezogen haben, während sie aktiv daran gearbeitet haben, Verbindungen zwischen ihrer lokalen Szene und der breiteren globalen Punk-Gemeinschaft herzustellen.
Das dritte und letzte Album der Band, "Punx Save the Human Race", wurde 2021 durch die Zusammenarbeit mit Labels in China, Deutschland und Polen auf den Markt gebracht. There's reason to celebrate on July 16: it's the guinea pig's day of honor! So pack your claw scissors and a snack carrot and come to the Kats. You can expect cute friends and three great bands. MAKALU from Karlsruh will kick things off with punk, rock and politics. Afterwards you can cheer on to the 1. FC ANGEILIKAS in their home game with cheepy fan chants. Afterwards, the far-traveled GUMBLEED from Beijing will present you the finest punk with lots of energy and a pinch of skating.
The whole evening will be smokfree inside - otherwise the biters will be so yellow.

MAKALU is a four-piece band from Karlsruhe. Simon on drums, Julius on bass & vocals, Lemis on guitar and Kolja on guitar & vocals are between 14 and 16 years old. Their musical style is somewhere between alternative rock, indie and punk rock. The band has been around for a year and apart from a few covers, they now mainly play their own songs. A bit like Ton Steine Scherben back in the day, Makalu is reviving the youthful political rock scene. With their songs "Kohlebagger", "Kein Bau von neuen Straßen" and "Zerstört", they deal very specifically with current socio-political issues. Live, it sometimes happens that a few strings break or parts of the drums fall over, but that's part of the band's game. There is only one goal on stage: to go wild and create a great atmosphere.

The Angeilikas have been on the road together as the 4 Gs for a year now. Yvonne is a multi-talent on keyboard, drums and guitar, Moni is the absolute showmaster on keyboard and vocals, Ernst has an incomparable sense of rhythm on drums, guitar and vocals and Gabi, the hip hop influence on bass, keyboard and vocals.
Since the phenomenal concert, they are no longer unknown in Freiburg and are now also making the surrounding area unsafe.
