We invite you to participate in our event series, ‘Rethinking Narratives’, which aims to open a space for people to learn about the violent Israel-Palestine question, its origins, consequences, and our role in it.

For this event, ‘Life in-between fences - a story of resistance from the Westbank‘, we will screen the International Emmy award-winning documentary “5 broken cameras” co-directed by Palestinian Emad Burnat and Israeli Guy Davidi. We will follow the Palestinian villagers of Bil’in in the Westbank who resisted the expansion of Israeli settlements on Palestinian lands by opposing the construction of a wall at their doorstep. This is filmed through the lens of a father and journalist who embarks us on the journey of his village’s resistance and resilience. We also invite you to engage in a joint reflection/discussion afterward. The films will be shown in Arabic with English subtitles.

The event will take place on Monday, March 4th @19:00. It will be held at the KG1, HS 1098 located at Platz der Universität 3, Freiburg. We will not tolerate any hate speech or other forms of discrimination, including anti-Arab racism, antisemitism or Islamophobia.
