WIRES & LIGHTS (Berlin)
Wires & Lights is a 4-piece Post-Punk English/German band from Berlin, comprising Justin Stephens (Vocals/Guitar), Ralf Hünefeld (Guitar/Synth), Gabriel Brero (Bass) and Sebastian Hilgetag (Drums). First demo release (available on bandcamp) was ‚Swimming‘ from 2014. This year on tour with The Mission, they will make a short stop in Freiburg to enjoy this Monday in May. „A Chasm Here And Now“ is the long awaited debut album of Justin Stephens‘ (ex-Passion Play) current band WIRES & LIGHTS, with which the Berlin quartet redeems everything they announced at live shows and on the Pagan Love Songs Vol. 3 compilation in 2014 with an early demo version of „Swimming“. Having spent three weeks at #1 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC) on its CD and digital release (by Oblivion/SPV during fall 2019), the album will now be released for the first time on vinyl by Wave Tension Records in a limited edition (300 copies) gatefold double LP.

Postminimal puristische Tanzmusik
Das Synth Wave Duo MängelExemplar‘ aus Düsseldorf wurde 2011 gegründet. Die Musik ist geprägt durch Analoge Klänge, eingehende Melodien, kühle Synthesizer Sounds und Drumcomputer der frühen 80er Jahre. Minimal-Elektronik, Tanzbarkeit, kantig-schräge Gesangslinien sowie verspielte, aber auch experimentelle Klänge sind stetiger Bestandteil. Die genaue Charakterisierung es Musikstils ist wegen der großen stilistischen Vielfalt ebenso schwierig wie eine Abgrenzung gegen einen Postminimalismus. Die Kultband Mängelexemplar steht für eine minimale Kunstform ohne Anspruch eines komplexen Erklärungsmodells und für ein minimalistisch puristisches Klang- und Tanzerlebnis.
