Not only is Soulmind resident DJ at Berlin’s premier club for leftfield beats Gretchen, he is also an acclaimed mixtape maker known for his smooth harmonic mixing across all corners of bass music including hiphop, future bass, and garage. His eclectic taste in and extensive knowledge of music is what makes Soulmind’s sets particularly interesting. Soulmind has had a significant impact on the bass-driven underground music scene in Berlin and is part of the Berlin/London based collective Through My Speakers. His hybrid sets combine UK bass music, footwork/juke/jungle, instrumental hip hop, new school rap music and all kinds of bass-heavy but soulful sounds. His afterhour mix „Over Distant Mountains“ was as critically acclaimed as his ghetto mix „Slow Dancing In A Ski Mask“ and applauded by artists like Kaytranada, Eprom and Robot Koch with international blog love from outlets like Earmilk, Do Androids Dance, Mixcloud and many more.
Also an influental figure in Berlin’s bass music scene, NGHT DRPS has released his debut EP„SLIPPIN“(TMS002) on Through My Speakers in 2015. Slippin delves deep into the caverns of dub creating a sound heavily influenced by the UK and the diverse genres UK musicians have helped pioneer: an EP that nods just as much to the early days of dubstep than it does to the jungle adventures of Sam Binga, Om Unit and consorts. NGHT DRPS spreads weighty, deep and trippy vibes with heavy drums and bass galore, while clearly paying tribute to old-school dubstep. Touching ground in London 2014, NGHT DRPS connected to many of his musical roots and focussed his musical vision, framing futuristic sounds into a unique concept of Dub.
