Ataya Discussion: The 2026 Healthcare Reform and Its Consequences
The federal government is planning a reform of the statutory health insurance system. Among other things, the plan calls for higher copayments for prescription medications, restrictions on free family coverage, and reduced subsidies for dental prosthetics. The announced cost-cutting measures are causing uncertainty among many insured individuals and are also being critically discussed by health economists.
As part of the “Ataya” event series, the DenkAnstoß project by Schwere(s)Los! e.V. invites you to an open discussion on the potential consequences of the reform. Following a brief presentation by trade unionist Leon Borgmeister, there will be time for exchange and discussion. The event will be accompanied by the traditional Senegalese tea ceremony Ataya, prepared by Fatou Ndiaye. Valéria Silva Fekete will moderate the event.
Date: Saturday, May 16, 2026, 2:00–4:00 p.m.
Location: Schwere(s)Los! e.V., Kleineschholzstraße 5, Freiburg-Stühlinger
