Essen - Bookstand - Movie Night

On May 9, 50 years ago, Ulrike Meinhof was killed by the authorities.

Fifty years later, those same authorities are persecuting Ernst-Volker Staub and Burkhard Garweg, while they have already thrown Daniela Klette into prison. The first verdict against them will be handed down this month. In solidarity with the three activists and in memory of those who have passed away, we'll be searching for clues with the BLOCKBUSTER "The Baader Meinhof Complex." At the same time, we'll set up a book stand with selected literature by and about the activists. The blockbuster starts around 7:30 p.m., and so we don't lose our cool amid all the "terror," there will be tasty snacks to munch on during the film. Because as we all know: No munching, no struggle.

(Since we've noticed in recent weeks that the Küfa at LiZ is increasingly turning into a consumer event, we'd like to remind you that a Küfa can only thrive if many people get involved. Behind the scenes, the kitchen is maintained, meals are organized in advance, and so on. All of this takes time and money that your friends and comrades are investing. It would be great if you could show more appreciation for this and consider whether you could come as early as 4:00 PM to help prepare the food. If that doesn't work out because there's an important plenary meeting on Sunday afternoon, it would be great if you could at least take responsibility for washing your own dishes. This time spent cooking and washing dishes is simply more fun with a group of people, and through collective action, the world we dream of comes to life for a brief moment.)

See you Sunday—we're looking forward to seeing you and to another LiZ Küfa blockbuster
